Frankel Orthodontics uses all the latest appliance technology to complete your treatment. The following are brief explanation of the most common braces used:

Metal Braces

Dr. Frankel uses metal braces to accomplish the most challenging tooth movements. Tried and true, today’s metal braces are a balance between using the smallest size brace allowing for the most optimal tooth movement. In conjunction with digital treatment planning and wires using NASA technology, today’s Orthodontic treatment uses the lightest pressures possible for optimal tooth movement. Additionally, today’s bonding techniques allow complete placement of your braces in as little as 30 minutes. Appointments can vary from 4-8 weeks depending on what stage of treatment you are in.

Clear Ceramic

For the more aesthetic conscious patient, clear ceramic braces may be used instead of metal. Especially when used on the upper teeth (which show the most during speaking or smiling). Orthodontic treatment can often be accomplished with only a minimal increase in treatment time or number of appointments.

Clear Aligner

Technology has evolved quickly, allowing for clear aligners to become an effective method to move teeth. Its superior esthetics, and ease to allow cleaning during treatment has made this a popular choice. Frankel orthodontics uses the latest digital impressing technology allowing for a clean, quick, and comfortable process for ordering Clear Aligners. (No more yucky impressions) Using clear aligners effectively requires a full understanding of its mechanics and the biology of tooth movement. Dr. Frankel has completed many cases using aligners, and would be happy to discuss if Clear Aligners are appropriate for you.

Active Retainers

Retainers are worn after braces come off to “retain” the new alignment of teeth. Retainers can be fabricated with activations built in to allow correction of minor irregularities in the position of the teeth. These removable appliances give flexibility to patients who feel they need this option for their personal situation.
